I think a zipper would be great in that, ala a "real" biker jacket. They're really not hard, you did knit a whole freaking sweater without a pattern afterall. That's hard. Tell Mr. Wide Feet, that people will think "everything" is girthy and to enjoy the looks of admiration. Sure they're just looking at those beautiful socks, but he won't know that...
